Service: Contract administration and project management.

Benefit: The client is relatively inexperienced in relation to delivering construction projects. We have therefore been employed to act on their behalf as contract administrator.  They are not able to undertake these services in house as they do not have the experience to do it. Using Caliba’s experience in such projects, they can relax knowing the project is in good hands. 

We’ve helped them understand issues the contractor is raising and explain what decisions need to be made and when.  Other things we’ve helped with are claims the contractor has made, helping them understand what they are and are not entitled to.  Contract administration has been key because the client and ultimate client have been confused about interpretation of the JCT contract. In turn, this was causing delays.  We have also used our experience to value variations ensuring they are not overpaying.
